The recorded history of Craps dates back to a dice game known as Hazard, which dates all the way back to Bernard de Mandeville in New Orleans in Eightteen Thirteen. Hazard is thought to be a descendant of Azzahr, which means ‘the die’ a game played by Arabs.
The game developed as it traveled from the Arab territories to France and then to England. By the early 18th century, cultivated game rules for Hazard had been developed. France started playing the British variation of Hazard and is assumed to have been imported to the new world by early French settlers. In the mid-Eighteenth century, when the English beat the French in Canada, the French settlers relocated to Louisiana. Dice were enjoyed on river boats, clubs and wharfs and a simplified ‘American’ variation of Craps was developed. The game headed west and is a favoured game that is participated in all over the U.S. and all over the planet.
The name ‘Craps’ is presumed to be a French enunciation of the phrase crabs, which refers to two ones. There are two general kinds of Craps that are played-street Craps and casino Craps. Street caps, correctly named because it is gambled on the streets is where a tosser establishes a point and then attempts to roll that point. The betting is made either with or against the shooter and another person has to cover the wager for the craps game to carry on.
In casino Craps, which is the normal game, bet on in betting houses, the casino funds the game. The gamblers gamble against the casino-the house covers all of the bets of all of the players. Craps used to be a quite loved game but in the past twenty years had split itself and other games, such as poker and chemin de fer became more well-known. However, Craps is observing a surge in recognition once again in online betting houses and in land based casinos.
