If you like to indulge in a drink every now and then, keep your money at home if you plan to do your drinking in a poker room. I’m not joking. clean out your pocketbook, your wallet, and keep all cash, debit cards and cheques at home. Take whatever money you are planning to spend on beverages, tips and whatever pocket coins you plan on loosing and keep the rest behind.
Cynical? Not at all. Realistic really. You might well experience a success after a boozy night out with your friends and be fortunate enough to catch a marathon roll at a smokin craps table. Hang on to that story because it is as short-lived as it gets if you constantly drink and bet. The two just do not mix.
Leaving your cash at home is a little dramatic, however preventative measures for drastic actions is relative and necessary. If you wager to win, then don’t consume alcohol and gamble. If you can manage to toss away your cash without a second thought, then drink all the free booze your belly can handle, but don’t take bank cards and cheques to toss into the combination of chasing losses after your drunk as a skunk brain squanders everything!
